« Robot Waiters Will Serve Food Tirelessly and Demand No Tip »
Thursday, March 10, 2011 at 12:00PM
It's a struggling actor's worst nightmare. A restaurant in southern China has replaced human food servers with robots.
The seven waiter-bots have sensors that allow them to follow a track to each table; radar prevents the $6,000 units from bumping into obstacles along the way.
And that's not all -- the restaurant also features an android hostess and dancing robots to entertain the diners. The food is still prepared by humans, at least for now.
