« Chorizo, the other Manly Meat! »
How fantastic that chorizo, a delicious pork sausage from the Iberian peninsula, has finally gotten its macho day in the sun at the Milwaukee Brewers Sausage Race!
Chorizo, as defined in wikipedia, is made from coarsely chopped fatty pork and usually seasoned with chili and paprika. The mild Spanish paprika used gives this sausage its characteristic flavor. The Chorizo itself can be found as either picante (hot) or dulce (sweet). Our favorite here at Mas Macho is "El Picante".
"El Picante" ran the greatest race of his flavorful life. "I ran faster than when I was a red dot special at the grocery store in East LA," exclaimed the simmered sausage at the end of race. "I either could win the race or become a tapa. The choice was very clear!"
The people of Milwaukee are not known for being the most macho of all baseball fans but they do like their sausage. Also in the race was an Italian sausage, a bratwurst, a Polish kilebasa , who ran in the opposite direction from all the other sausages, and the good old hot dog. The accomodation of "El Picante" has definitely increase the machoness of the Milwaukee Brewers in the neverending ending quest to achieve the perfect state of macho.
