Ricky Del Man

International actor, dancer and choreographer, Ricky Del Man, has starred in some of the most recognized productions across the world. His urbane, exuberant and sophisticated style has placed him among the elite dancers in history.

Born to the tough streets of Detroit in Michigan, Ricardo Felix Antonescu Del Man was a happy child. He lived there for a very short time with his parents, older sister, two cats, a dog, and a parakeet.

His father, Samuel Del Man, moved the family to Sao Paolo, in the north of Brazil. From his first steps there as a child, his mother could see a bounce in his step and a twinkle in his eye. As he was growing up, music continually filled his household and Ricky never missed the opportunity to move with the music.

Ricky began his dance training back in the United States with Hortensia Fonseca at the Academy of the Maryland Youth Ballet. He attended the American Ballet Theatre II summer session and the School of American Ballet before joining ABT as an apprentice and then the corps de ballet.

Ricky made his professional dance debut as a soloist with Roland Petit's Ballets de Paris, one of a few American male dancers invited to join that company. For the following years was a member of May O'Donnell's modern dance company. This was great for Ricky because he felt he was neither a ballet or modern dancer, but an 'expressionista'.

Ricky has choreographed some of the great America musicals including the second national tour of "The Tap Dance Kid," as well as "Oklahoma", "Mame", "The Music Man" and "42nd Street." Ricky was featured in the motion picture "Outtakes", choreographed and performed for the television series "The Untouchables", and appeared on television programs in Europe, with Xuxa in South America and Asia.

In 2003, Ricky completed an unprecedented run starring in "The Lord of the Dance", pictures courtesy of the production. Ricky resides in New York City and is often found vacationing in Bali.
