Daniel Kournikova
Daniel Kournikova, the estranged brother of tennis hottie Anna Kournikova, has finally made his comeback.
Daniel, seen here on the right during his moment of triumph, has risen from the unranked levels of professional stardom to victory. He won the Ronald McDonald Open Invitational Tournament in Sarasota Springs, Florida. The tournament marks the first 1st place finish for Daniel since his fall from international prominence.
Born 5 years earlier than Anna, Daniel was the whipping boy of his politically connected and empowered family. His father had expected to see a daughter on the day Daniel was born, so needless to say he was disappointed. His mother, in shock from the birth of Daniel as boy, continued to dress him as a girl until the age of 5, when Anna was born.
As Anna grew up and was indentified as a tennis protege, Daniel was the ball boy. He would run around the court picking up the balls and cleaning them for Anna. His father would tie a racket to each hand and make him be a human target for Anna. But at night, it was time for Daniel.
He soon realized that he too had the tennis gift and he practiced at night. His career took off once he moved out of the house and entered his first professional tournament.
Anna Kournikova was asked during a recent press conference what she thought of here brother's victory. "I love brother Daniel," she said. "He is good boy."
